In arcades and on Neo Geo, "Neo Turf Masters" earned its reputation for an accessible yet precise swing, vibrant courses from around the world, and a sense of speed unusual for a golf simulator. The conversion to Neo Geo Pocket Color surprised players with how well it translated that formula to a much smaller screen, preserving the pacing and much of the original's visual appeal.
It's still considered, to this day, one of the best golf games of the 16- and 32-bit era on any platform, and this handheld version remains one of the most convenient ways to experience that reputation firsthand.
