Alter Echo, developed by the studio behind Project Gotham Racing, features a hero who can transform into a sphere to move and fight to the rhythm of a dynamic soundtrack that reacts to the action. The blend of platforming, combat, and music made it an uncommon experiment within THQ's catalog.
It didn't have the impact of other action platformers of its time, but its central idea -rhythm as part of combat- makes it one of those rarities worth rediscovering today.
