Altered Beast revisits the 1988 arcade game with updated graphics for PS2, keeping the original premise: a centurion resurrected by Zeus who must transform into different beasts (wolf, dragon, bear, tiger) to rescue his beloved from the clutches of the god Neff. Sega bet on reviving one of its most recognizable 8- and 16-bit licenses with a third-person twist.
The reception was lukewarm: the remake never managed to capture the original's arcade punch or add mechanics that made it memorable on its own merit. Today it works more as a curiosity for Sega nostalgics than as a heavyweight recommendation.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
