Britney's Dance Beat, developed by Metro Corporation for PS2 and published by THQ, invites players to follow the rhythm of choreography inspired by the aesthetics of Britney Spears's music videos, capitalizing on the singer's peak popularity in the early part of the decade. It's a direct example of how the pop-star business crossed over into video games in the pre-Guitar Hero era.
Its interest today is mostly historical: a time capsule of early-2000s pop turned into a video game, more curious as a cultural artifact than as a deep gameplay proposal.
