Chaos Field: New Order, developed and published by Milestone, revisits the spirit of Compile's shooters (creators of the Aleste saga) through a system of two "fields" or polarities the player can switch between to dodge and counterattack bullet patterns. The "New Order" version for PS2 added content compared to the original arcade.
It's territory for the danmaku (pattern shoot 'em up) enthusiast, a niche genre but with loyal followers, who find here an interesting mechanical twist on the genre's classic formula.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
