Def Jam Vendetta took the fighting engine AKI had perfected in its wrestling games and combined it with a cast of rappers and hip-hop figures from Def Jam Recordings - DMX, Method Man, Redman, Ludacris - thrown into an underground street-fighting tournament, with a combat system that rewarded rhythm and reading the opponent over combo memorization. It earned its own place within the PS2-era fighting genre thanks to that uncommon mix of hip-hop culture and technical wrestling mechanics, and it's still remembered as one of the console's best music-licensed games.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
