Brave Story: Aratanaru Tabibito (known in the West as Brave Story: New Traveler) adapts the universe of Miyuki Miyabe's novel and its 2006 animated film into an action RPG developed by Game Republic for PSP. The story follows a young man who crosses a portal into a fantasy world called Vision, in a journey-and-growth structure typical of the genre, with real-time combat more nimble than that of a classic turn-based RPG.
It got localization into several languages, which let it break out of the purely Japanese circuit and reach a Western audience that knew the work through the film. It's one of the more carefully crafted fantasy-literature adaptations in PSP's catalog, though it ended up overshadowed by bigger-franchise RPGs released around the same time.
