Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 2003 Super Plus is a fighting game developed by IGS, the Taiwanese company behind series like Knights of Valour, which took the name and aesthetic of period martial arts cinema -popularized in the West by Ang Lee's film- for a roster of characters with swords and flying techniques. It's representative of the fighting catalog IGS produced for the Chinese and Southeast Asian market in the early 2000s. It stayed off the radar of the Western specialized press, like much of IGS's catalog, but it documents a side of Asian fighting games that rarely crossed borders.
