Ai yori Aoshi follows the story of Kaoru and Aoi, betrothed since childhood who reunite as adults, a classic starting point of Japanese romance that the manga and its anime popularized in the early 2000s. The PS2 version moved that universe into a narrative format with a heavy emphasis on text and scene selection, typical of anime-license adaptations of the time. It never left Japan and today is, above all, a collector's item for followers of the original franchise. Its interest lies in faithfulness to the source material rather than in any gameplay proposal of its own.
