Akudaikan 2 - Mousouden continued the premise that made the series peculiar: stepping into the shoes of a corrupt, greedy feudal lord, managing land and subjects with a simulation-and-strategy logic tinged with dark humor. It's a Japan-exclusive game that inverts the classic RPG cliché by turning the player into the town's villain.
Its parodic tone and management mechanics link it closer to an ironic simulator than a conventional epic, which explains why it never left its home market: it's a very Japanese joke that didn't travel well.
