All-Star Baseball 2005 featuring Derek Jeter continued the line of licensed major-league baseball simulators Acclaim sustained for much of PlayStation 2's life, competing closely with EA Sports productions. The Yankees star headed a lineup of franchise modes, real stats, and licensed rosters aimed at the sport's fans.
It arrived at a moment when Acclaim was going through serious financial trouble that would end with the company's closure shortly after, so today it's also remembered as part of the end of an era for sports simulators outside the EA and 2K umbrella.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
