Athens 2004 gathered a selection of Olympic sports -athletics, swimming, gymnastics, among others- under the official license of the International Olympic Committee, aiming at the audience that every four years looks to relive the competition in video game form. Like the whole line of licensed Olympic games of the time, it favored event variety over depth in each one.
Today it works as a time capsule of a particular Games edition, more than as a sports simulator with lasting gameplay relevance.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
