Backyard Wrestling 2 - There Goes the Neighborhood deepens the series' pitch: raw 'backyard' wrestling matches with none of WWE's rules, with tables, ladders, barbed wire, and a roster that included real stars from the American hardcore and independent circuit. It bet on a rowdier, more violent tone than conventional wrestling simulators, in tune with the backyard wrestling boom of the early 2000s.
With the homemade-wrestling craze long faded, today it survives as a curiosity from a very particular era of American pop culture, appreciated by those looking for something different from the polished formula of official WWE games.
