Club Football - Aston Villa was part of a series of budget soccer games, each with the exclusive license of a different club, in this case English side Aston Villa. The proposal targeted the team's fanbase rather than competing with the big FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer licenses.
These single-club titles were a particular phenomenon of the mid-2000s, when several European publishers bet on squeezing specific licenses for loyal fanbases willing to buy a game centered exclusively on their team.
