Dragon Ball Z 2: Super Battle, developed by Cobra Team together with Magical Formation Co. and published by Banpresto in 1994, pits Akira Toriyama's manga and anime characters against each other in one-on-one combat with special attacks directly inspired by the series' techniques, such as the Kamehameha or the Big Bang Attack. It was one of the first arcade adaptations faithful to the anime's aesthetic. For franchise fans it remains a beloved piece: although the fighting mechanics don't reach the sophistication of Street Fighter II, the visual and audio fidelity to the original material more than makes up for that technical gap.
