Emeraldia proposes a particular variant on the falling-block genre: colored cubes pile up in columns, and when three of the same color end up stacked they crack; only when a fourth cube of the same color falls on them do all four disappear. Unlike other puzzles in the family, the match doesn't end if a column reaches the top: new cubes simply roll toward free spaces, which completely changes risk management.
It offers Adventure, Normal, and Versus modes, and ran on the Namco System NA-1 board. It got a second life on the Wii Virtual Console in 2009 and a rerelease within the Arcade Archives line in 2024, a sign that it retains a small but loyal group of followers within the niche of 90s Japanese puzzles.
