3D Pool is a billiards simulation that, as the title indicates, bet on showing the table in three-dimensional perspective instead of the genre's classic top-down view. It is a typical exercise of the era when every small studio wanted to prove its graphics engine could sustain moving geometry with the balls rolling believably. There are no great narrative or licensing ambitions behind it: it is billiards against the machine or another player, with the usual rules. Its interest today lies in comparing it with competing pool games and seeing how far home 3D could go on an Atari with no graphics coprocessor.
