8 Ball is, judging by its name, an American pool simulation designed for games against the computer or between two players taking turns at the keyboard. It is representative of an enormous segment of the software of the time: modest programs, with no graphical pretension, that translated physical tabletop games to the screen with faithful rules and little else.
There are no great feats to tell about a title like this, but there is archival value: it is the kind of program that survives today thanks to collectors and dedicated digital libraries more than through its fame at the time.
