Amoeba Jump is one of those small, straightforward titles where the name doesn't lie: the goal is to guide an amoeba as it hops between platforms, with the kind of reflex-and-timing mechanic that characterized much of the independent, niche catalog of retro platforms. There isn't solid production data to reliably reconstruct who was behind it or the exact context in which it came together.
In that sense, it's a game that explains itself just by being played: brief, focused on a single idea, with no narrative pretensions. For today's player it works as a niche curiosity, closer to a pocket pastime than to an ambitious production.
