Beef Drop is the work of programmer Ken Siders, who published it through AtariAge in 2005: the idea started as an April Fools' joke on the community forums and, given its good reception, turned into a real project with versions for different machines in the Atari family. The mechanic directly picks up BurgerTime, with the player assembling giant burgers while dodging enemies trying to catch him between platforms and ladders. It's a good example of how the homebrew scene turns a passing joke into a finished cartridge, and it's remembered with particular fondness because Siders passed away before seeing the reach his joke had within the community.
