Cross Bomber belongs to the family of games Italian programmer Fabrizio Caruso built on top of CROSS-LIB, a development library of his own design meant to port simple mechanics across different retro platforms, the Lynx among them. Its proposal picks up the classic logic of placing explosives to clear the way and neutralize threats within enclosed settings. Like the rest of the Cross series, it prioritizes pure mechanics over narrative or ambitious visual production, in line with the spirit of much of the cross-platform homebrew circulating today in the Atari scene.
