Toki arrived on the Lynx in 1992, published by Atari Corporation, as a conversion of the arcade that TAD Corporation had released a couple of years earlier: a side-scrolling platformer in which the protagonist, turned into an ape by an evil sorcerer's magic, must travel through levels full of enemies, spitting projectiles from his mouth while seeking to reverse the spell and rescue his beloved. Its visual humor and variety of settings set it apart within the genre. It's one of the most colorful arcade conversions in the Lynx catalog, representative of the era's taste for shooting platformers with out-of-the-ordinary protagonists.
