YNXA was born in 2019 as part of the programming contest for the Lynx's thirtieth anniversary organized by Atari Gamer, the work of developer Fadest under the Yastuna Games label: the player switches between Leaf, capable of jumping and double-jumping; Fire, who shoots projectiles and can turn into an explosive; and Water, who floods parts of the scenery, combining their abilities to solve platforming puzzles. The project kept growing after the competition until it became Ynxa: Leaf and the Secret of the Pyramid, the full version the community chose as the Lynx's homebrew of the year in 2022. It's one of the most ambitious and best-received productions of the handheld's recent homebrew scene, with a level design that demands carefully planning which character to use in each stretch.
