S.T.U.N. Runner arrived on the Lynx in 1991, developed and published by Atari Corporation, as a conversion of Atari Games' 1989 arcade: the player drives a futuristic vehicle at high speed through a three-dimensional tubular circuit, dodging obstacles and shooting enemy ships while managing accumulated damage. The feeling of constant speed, achieved with a graphics engine that was pioneering for its time in arcades, carried over remarkably well to the Lynx screen. It's one of the most technically bold conversions in the Lynx catalog, heir to an arcade that had impressed with its sense of three-dimensional speed at a time when that kind of graphics was just starting to be explored.
