Biohazard 4 is the Japanese title of Resident Evil 4, developed by Capcom under the direction of Shinji Mikami and released in 2005 as a timed GameCube exclusive. With Leon S. Kennedy sent to a Spanish village to rescue the US president's daughter, the game abandoned the fixed cameras and extreme ammo scarcity of its predecessors for an over-the-shoulder camera and much more direct action, without giving up the tension. Without exaggeration, it's one of the most influential games of the generation: it redefined the third-person shooter standard for a whole decade to follow and still appears on any serious list of the best games in history, something uncommon for a 2005 title that still plays practically as well today.
