Sonic 2 was made across two continents: Yuji Naka and Hirokazu Yasuhara moved to California to develop it at the Sega Technical Institute, alongside American talent. That's where Tails was born — the two-tailed fox who follows the player like a little brother — along with the spin dash, which fixed the original's biggest flaw: losing speed with no way to get it back. For its release, SEGA invented Sonic 2sday, on November 24, 1992, one of the medium's first simultaneous worldwide launches.
Chemical Plant, Casino Night, split-screen versus mode: this is SEGA at its cultural peak, when speed itself was a declaration of war against Nintendo. It's still the perfect entry point into classic Sonic — pure, well-designed momentum.
What the staff says

Puro nervio a 60 cuadros. TURBO-16 lo firma con el cronómetro en alto.
