Rare Ltd. built in Banjo-Kazooie one of the most beloved collect-a-thon platformers of the generation, with themed open worlds, sharp humor, and a protagonist duo —bear Banjo and chatty bird Kazooie— that earned a place among N64's icons. Nintendo also published it in Japan under this title.
More than two decades later it's still a required reference for the genre: few open-world platformers of the era have aged as well in level design and skill variety.
