Dual Heroes offers battles where each side is made up of a pair of characters who fight one at a time but share the team's life energy, a variation rarely explored within the fighting genre that gave it a certain identity of its own against the flood of 3D fighting games of the era. It was developed by Japanese studio Produce! and released in 1998, published by Hudson Soft in Japan and Electro Brain in North America.
It didn't get much critical or commercial traction, and it stayed as one of the many low-profile fighting offerings that coexisted in the 64's catalog without standing out. Its team mechanic remains, regardless, a curious feature worth checking out.
