Developed by WayForward Technologies -a studio renowned for its care in 2D animation- and published by Warner Bros. in 2010, the game adapts the retro, lighthearted style of the eponymous animated series, which teamed up Batman with various guest heroes from the DC universe. The result is a side-scrolling beat 'em up starring Batman, in the visual and tonal spirit of the original show.
Unlike almost every DC adaptation of the era -dominated by the Lego Batman formula-, this is one of the few 'non-Lego' licenses of the character on DS and Wii, and it earned good reviews for its visual faithfulness to the series and its polished craftsmanship, a WayForward hallmark.
