True to the spirit of the original 80s Boulder Dash, the game has the player dig through caves, collect gems, and dodge falling rocks, solving each level as a small puzzle of physics and anticipation rather than pure reflexes.
For those who knew the 8-bit original, this version works as a comfortable return with controls adapted for DS. It remains a solid puzzle, though its formula was already more familiar than surprising for its time.
