Cake Mania 3 continues the adventures of Jill, the baker protagonist of the saga created by Sandlot Games, in its usual frantic-management formula: taking orders, baking, decorating, and serving cakes against the clock as the business grows and gets more complicated. The DS version translates that mechanic to touch controls with results faithful to the PC original.
The Cake Mania franchise was one of the most popular in the 'time management' genre during the second half of the 2000s, and this third entry arrived on Nintendo's handheld at the genre's peak popularity within the console's casual catalog.
