This DS version of Chess offers what you'd expect from a digital chess set: a faithful board, several levels of artificial intelligence, and some basic analysis tools, with no narrative or characters to distract from the board game itself. It's a straightforward product, no frills.
Like so many classic board games brought to DS, its value lies in portability: having a chess opponent always available, without needing a physical board or another human player.
