Bomberman '93 is the entry Hudson Soft made exclusively for PC Engine, featuring a Normal Game mode that returns to the classic maze-and-bombs formula, and a Battle Game mode for up to five simultaneous players via the Multitap accessory — the direct seed of what would later become the series' standard formula. It keeps the same essence as ever: plant bombs, blow up blocks, hunt for power-ups, and don't get caught in your own trap. For much of the PC Engine community, this entry — alongside Bomberman '94 — represents the series' high point on NEC's console.
