Dungeon Explorer combines real-time action combat with character progression and a roster of classes with distinct abilities, all built for group play thanks to the console's multitap — a rare feature in 1989. It's an important piece of cooperative action-RPG history, and its multiplayer ambition remains its biggest draw today: few games of the era put that many people playing together on a single screen.
