Developed by Project Aces for Namco, Ace Combat Zero - The Belkan War narrates the events leading up to Ace Combat 5 from the perspective of a mercenary whose combat style the player shapes through their choices: ruthless ace or knight of the sky. The Ace Combat series built its identity on arcade aerial combat, squadrons with personality, and a military narrative with an operatic accent, and this entry is often cited as one of the series' peaks on PS2.
Today it's remembered as one of the console's best arcade aerial combat games, with a memorable score and a campaign that still works as the perfect entry point to the series for anyone who's never flown with Project Aces.
