Like the rest of the series, it offers arcade aerial combat rather than hardcore simulation, with a campaign of short missions and a solid handful of licensed fighters to unlock and upgrade. It remained, like almost the entire franchise after the original Dreamcast game, within the Japanese market.
It's one more piece of the arcade flight-sim niche PS2 was able to house, none of which became a massive phenomenon outside Japan.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
