All-Star Fighters gathers a cast of characters based on celebrities and popular figures in a fighting game aimed at a casual audience, with humor and exaggeration taking priority over any competitive ambition. It sits in the tradition of 'party' fighting games that sought to cash in on their stars' media pull rather than offer deep combat systems.
Today it's a rarity even among PS2 collectors: a low-profile title that illustrates well the kind of opportunistic, lighthearted product that also coexisted with the console's big releases.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
