Produced by Ruby Party, Koei's label specialized in games aimed at female players, Angelique Trois continues the series that in 1994 launched the otome genre: the protagonist competes to rule a planet while cultivating romantic bonds with a cast of suitors, blending turn-based management with narrative.
It's a key piece for understanding the history of otome games, a genre that in the West only started gaining visibility long after Angelique defined it in Japan.
