Under its Japanese title, Anubis - Zone of the Enders is the second entry in the series of agile mechas Kojima Productions produced as a faster, more arcade-like counterpoint to Metal Gear Solid, with Hideo Kojima as producer and a visual design still cited today as a reference for futuristic aesthetics. This special edition bundled the game with extra content made for the Japanese market, including material tied to the anime that accompanied the release. It's one of the most beloved pieces of PS2's mecha catalog: fast combat, environments that get destroyed in real time, and a technical demo of Metal Gear Solid 2 that was reason enough to buy it at the time. It still holds up as one of the best examples of the giant-robot action subgenre on the console.
