Astro Boy is Osamu Tezuka's most influential creation, the robot with a boy's shape who first flew in 1952 and laid the visual and narrative foundations for much of modern manga. This PS2 game accompanied one of the character's many revivals, with platforming levels where Astro combines melee combat with his iconic thruster-powered flight.
For anyone who only knows Tezuka by name, it's an accessible way to approach one of the founding icons of Japanese pop culture, in a format made for all audiences.
