Astro Boy Atom brings the small robot created by Osamu Tezuka into a third-person action platformer, backed by the 2003 animated relaunch of Tetsuwan Atom. Development was tied to Sonic Team, which explains a technical polish uncommon in anime adaptations of the time, though it never reaches the level of Sega's flagship productions.
It's a decent adaptation rather than a memorable one: it delivers what's expected of a licensed game -agile action, colorful levels, recognizably designed bosses- without reaching much beyond the audience that already followed the character.
