BDFL Manager 2004 put the player in the role of head coach and manager of a German league club, with transfers, tactics, and the financial administration typical of the manager genre, in the vein of what Championship Manager did for English football. It never left Germany and its interest was always limited to local Bundesliga followers. It's one more testament to how every European football market had, during the 2000s, its own management simulator tailored to the particulars of its league.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
