Developed by Capcom under Shinji Mikami's direction, Biohazard 4 relocates Leon S. Kennedy to a rural Spanish village infested by a cult that controls its inhabitants with a parasite, and replaces the saga's fixed-camera tank controls with an over-the-shoulder view that became a genre standard for the following decade. This Japanese edition arrived on PS2 with its own adjustments compared to the original GameCube version.
Few games of the generation influenced third-person action design as much: it's still studied today as one of the clearest turning points in the history of the medium.
