File 2 continues Outbreak's proposal: zombie-populated Raccoon City settings explored with up to four players, either locally or -at the time- via PS2's network adapter. It adds new scenarios and playable characters to the formula set out by the first installment.
It's a key piece for understanding Capcom's early attempts to bring Resident Evil into cooperative territory, years before multiplayer became a central part of the saga. Its online infrastructure no longer works, but the story mode remains playable and faithful to that original proposal.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
