Developed and published by Midway, it revisits the exaggerated arcade spirit of the old NFL Blitz saga but adds a season narrative centered on the rise and fall of a quarterback, with dirty plays, banned substances, and a sports-soap-opera tone unthinkable for the competition. Lacking an NFL license, it played with fictional teams and players inspired by real ones.
It was one of the most distinctive bets of the sports genre that generation, and it's still remembered for daring to show the dark side of professional sports that official franchises would never touch.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
