It fits into the Japanese tradition of everyday-life simulators: instead of combat or exploration, the focus is on a family's routines, decisions, and relationships, a genre with a loyal audience in Japan but almost no export.
It never left its home market and today is a minority piece even there, of interest mainly to those closely following Japanese life simulators of the PS2 era.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
