Developed by Beautiful Game Studios and published by Eidos, at a time when the Championship Manager brand had already gone through its split from Sports Interactive -which kept the Football Manager name- it offers full club management: transfer market, training, tactics, and the institution's financial administration. Adapting to a console controller was always the biggest challenge of this kind of simulator, originally designed for mouse and keyboard.
For genre fans it's one more piece of the long rivalry between Championship Manager and Football Manager, though on console it never reached the depth of its PC versions.
