It offers matches against an adjustable AI, tutorials for beginners, and a library of classic openings and endgames, all transferred from the historic PC software to a console controller, with the three-dimensional board as the main visual draw. It's a rarity within PS2's catalog, a genre that rarely found a place outside the computer.
For chess lovers it's a pleasant curiosity: a serious digital board, free of distractions, on a console designed above all for other kinds of experiences.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
