The Conveni proposes managing a chain of convenience stores in the style of Japanese konbini: choosing locations, stocking shelves, setting prices, and competing against rival chains until dominating the map of an entire city. It's a business simulation with a very local approach, made for an audience that knows the culture of the twenty-four-hour konbini by heart. Like much of the era's Japanese management sims, it never left its home market. It's a curiosity for anyone interested in the strange richness of simulation subgenres that only existed in Japan.
