Dead to Rights II continues Jack Slate's story, a cop who combines shootouts with hand-to-hand disarming and coordinated attacks alongside his trained dog Shadow, in a revenge plot against the organized crime that murdered his father in the first entry. The saga distinguished itself with its stylized violence, a direct heir to Hong Kong action cinema.
It's remembered as one of the most forceful action offerings of the mid-PS2 generation, with a darker tone than the first entry and slow-motion shooting sequences that sought to emulate 80s and 90s action cinema.
